Here lyeth the body of JOHN TOZER late of Howton who was buried March the 17th 1713. Also here lyeth the body of BENJAMIN his son, late of Howton, who was buried June the 8 1778 aged 70. Also WILLIAM the son of Benjamin who died June the 11 1795 aged 55. Also JOHN son of the above William who died the ….. day of March 18?8 aged ?9 years.

Sacred to the memory of CHARLES TOZER late of Howton in this parish who died the 24th of February 1813 in the 29th year of his age. Also of two of his children. A pining sickness gave the fatal blow, The stroke was certain but the effect was slow, With wasting pain death found me sore oppress’d, Pitied my sighs & kindly gave me rest. Also of WILLIAM son of the above, born at Howton Oct. 20th 1808. Died at Exeter Feb. 28th 1892.

B016: Erected to the memory of JULIA TAVERNER who departed this life June the 25th 1837 aged 6 months. Also of PRUDENCE TAVERNER mother of the above (and also of Joseph Taverner of Dockham in this parish) who died February 26th 1842 aged 34 years. A mother and a child most dear, Beneath this stone lie sleeping here, Till Christ shall come and bid us rise, To meet our kindred in the skies.

B017: Post tot naufr adia portum. Erected as a tribute of affection to perpetuate the memory of MARY wife of John DAYMENT of Cranbrook in this parish who died August 7th 1832 aged 44 years. Also of MARY daughter of the above Thos. and Mary Dayment who died April 18th 1838 aged 18 years. Here lies in dust a wife so dear, A mother too lies sleeping here, Here a daughter and a sister lies, Till the trump call them to the skys.

B018: In memory of WILLIAM ALLER who departed this life ….. of October 1720 in the 61 year of his age. Also five of his children lie buried here. Also HANNAH wife of the above William ALLER who departed this life the 26 of January 1793 aged 85 years.

B019: In affectionate memory of FRANK PETERS who departed this life November 2nd 1875 aged 55 years. Also of two of his children.

B020: Sacred to the memory of GRACE the wife of Robert WILLS (Carrier of this town) who departed this life the 29th November 1839 aged 52 years. This languishing heart is at rest, Its thinking and pain are all over, This quiet immoveable breast, Is heav’d by affliction no more, This heart is no longer the seat, Of trouble and torturing pain, It ceases to flutter and beat, It never shall flutter again. Also of the above ROBERT WILLS who departed this life 9th Nov. 1862 aged 72 years.

Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of God. Also of the above JOHN WEEKS (late carrier of this parish) who died May 24th 1873 aged 68 years. Also of HENRY brother of the above who died May 19th 1857 aged 19 years. Affliction sore long time I bore, Physicians were in vain, Until at last it pleased the Lord, To ease me from my pain. Also of LYDIA SCOTT sister of the above who died May 26th 1858 aged 15 years. Weep not for me my parents dear, I am not dead but sleeping here.

Also of ELIZABETH wife of the above who died May 1st 1870 aged 74 years. “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him”. 1 Thess. Chap. 4 ver. 14. This stone was restored in the year 1890 by their youngest daughter Elizabeth Gange.
