The Parish Church
The Parish Church, dedicated to St Andrew, holds a commanding position above the road from Exeter, overlooking a steep field topped by level ground known as the 'Sentry' (originally 'Sanctuary field' referring to the fact it was church property or glebe).
Although there is older stonework within, most of the church fabric is of fifteenth and sixteenth century date. A short history of the church is available.
For details of inscriptions on gravestones in the churchyard (sections AD, EH, and JQ for different areas of the churchyard) and inside the church.
